David is a senior associate, specialising in finance. In particular, he has insight over the key drivers and KPIs for the retail sector. He therefore knows how to quickly review a retail operation and understand where its shortcomings, and how both financial and operational performance can be improved as a result. David has extensive experience in financial restructuring and the re-engineering of financial/business processes to deliver profit growth and cost reduction, cash flow and working capital management.
He was employed as finance director of Early Learning Centre before working for Ernst and Young and then becoming head of retail services at Grant Thornton. He was also seconded to Royal Bank of Scotland’s global restructuring group in Birmingham. David has worked with a wide variety of retailers, including, Lidl, Iceland, Alldays, Tiles R Us, Allders, Floors 2 Go, Hobbycraft, Staples and Furniture Village. Since leaving Grant Thornton in 2010, David has been involved in a wide range of retail and retail-related operations.
